A BarCamp is simply an ‘unconference’ - an ad-hoc gathering of people with the simple desire to share and learn in an open environment. Unlike a conference, at a barcamp everyone is both a speaker and a participant. The content is provided by all attendees based on their interests.

BarCampGhana aims to be the template and premier resource for organizing BarCamps in Ghana, and organized the first Ghanaian BarCamp: BarCampGhana '08 BarCampGhana '08, held in Accra, Ghana on December 22nd 2008 with the theme: ‘Fueling Ghana’s Technology and Business Renaissance’.

Over 100 young people interested in business, technology and innovation engaged in a day of dialogue and exchanged ideas. Indeed, the breadth of ideas shared and range of participant interest greatly exceeded our expectations.

Based on the feedback received from BarCampGhana '08, we are currently organizing BarCampDiaspora '09, under the theme "Investing our Talent where it Counts."
